Estimate a healthy weight range based on your height using the Devine formula and BMI-based ranges. This provides a reference point for fitness goals and health discussions with professionals.
For men: 50 kg + 0.91 kg per cm over 152 cm. For women: 45.5 kg + 0.91 kg per cm over 152 cm. The calculator also shows the BMI 18.5–24.9 range for the given height.
A 170 cm male: 50 + (18 × 0.91) = 66.4 kg ideal weight. The healthy BMI range for 170 cm is 53.5–72.3 kg.
Healthy bodies come in many shapes. The Devine formula gives a midpoint, but the BMI range (18.5–24.9) shows the full spectrum of healthy weights for a given height. Staying within this range reduces health risks.
These formulas do not account for muscle mass, bone density, or body composition. Athletes with high muscle mass may fall outside the "ideal" range while being perfectly healthy. Use this as a starting point, not a rule.
