36 years
Formula: Age = Current Date - Birth Date
Calculate your precise age in years based on your birth date. The calculator accounts for whether your birthday has already occurred this year to give the correct age rather than a simple year subtraction.
Age = Current Year − Birth Year, adjusted downward by 1 if the current month and day are before the birth month and day. This ensures the result reflects completed years.
Born January 15, 1990: if today is after January 15, your age is the full difference. If today is before January 15, subtract 1 from the year difference. The calculator determines this based on the current date.
Subtracting birth year from current year gives the wrong answer for roughly half the year. A person born December 31, 2000 is still 23 years old on December 30, 2024, not 24. The calculator handles the birthday-based adjustment.
Use this for checking eligibility for age-restricted activities, calculating years of experience, or determining school year placement. The result is a whole number of completed years.
