Formula: Area = ((base1 + base2) * height) / 2
Calculate the area of a trapezoid (trapezium) using both parallel bases and the perpendicular height between them. Used for land plots, roof sections, and irregular-shaped areas.
Area = ((Base1 + Base2) × Height) ÷ 2. Average the two bases, then multiply by height. Base1 and Base2 are the parallel sides; height is the perpendicular distance between them.
Base1 = 7, Base2 = 11, height = 5: area = ((7 + 11) × 5) ÷ 2 = 45 sq units.
In a trapezoid, two sides are parallel. These are the bases. The other two sides may be any length and angle. Measure the perpendicular distance between the parallel sides for the height.
